Terms of Service

Last updated: May 3, 2026

By installing or using the Veris Chrome extension, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. License Grant

Veris grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the extension for your own vocabulary learning. You may not redistribute, sell, sublicense, or modify the extension.

2. Free Tier

The free version of Veris is available at no cost and includes:

  • Inline translation on any web page
  • PDF translation (selectable text)
  • Vocabulary saving with sentence context
  • Spaced repetition (SRS) exercises
  • 50+ languages and offline mode

Free features are provided as-is and may be modified or extended at any time.

3. Premium Tier

Premium is an annual subscription that adds:

  • Progress analytics, study streaks, and language statistics
  • Cross-device vocabulary sync via your own Google Drive
  • Vocabulary export and import (CSV)
  • All new premium features shipped during your active subscription year

A Premium license key is personal and may not be shared or transferred to another user.

4. Payment and Billing

Premium subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy. By purchasing, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's terms of service. Your subscription renews annually until cancelled.

5. Refund Policy

If you are unsatisfied with your Premium purchase, contact us within 14 days of your purchase date for a full refund. Refunds are not available after 14 days or after a second annual renewal. To request a refund, use the support page.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the extension
  • Attempt to circumvent license verification
  • Use the extension in any way that violates applicable laws

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Veris is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the extension will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose. Translation accuracy depends on Chrome's built-in Translation API, which is provided by Google.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Veris and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the extension, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for a Premium license in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of Veris after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration.
